Cross-site request forgery (CSRF) vulnerability in the AdminPanel in WordPress 2.1.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to perform privileged actions as administrators, as demonstrated using the delete action in wp-admin/post.php. NOTE: this issue can be leveraged to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks and steal cookies via the post parameter.

The weakness was disclosed 02/27/2007 by Stefan Friedli (spender) with scip AG (Website). The advisory is available at scip.ch. This vulnerability was named CVE-2007-1244 since 03/03/2007. The attack can be initiated remotely. Technical details and also a public exploit are known.

It is possible to download the exploit at fadetoblack.ch. It is declared as proof-of-concept. As 0-day the estimated underground price was around $25k-$100k. By approaching the search of inurl:wp-admin/post.php it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking.
