AI ASSURANCE

When can we place justified trust in AI?

AI is becoming part of products, processes and decisions. The decisive question is no longer only what AI can do, but under which conditions organisations can rely on it responsibly.

scip AI Assurance connects Research, Security, Governance, Quality and People. The aim is not trust by assumption, but a traceable basis of Evidence, Known Limitations, Uncertainty, Governance and effective Controls.

TRUST
01

Why

Trust needs reasons.

Performance, compliance or security alone do not make an AI system trustworthy. Trust emerges from context and must remain connected to evidence, known limitations, uncertainty, governance and effective controls. AI Assurance creates the structure needed to challenge these assumptions systematically.

Cybersecurity protects information. Decision Security protects decisions.
02

How to AI

Trust is not a phase.

Justified Trust changes when context, evidence or uncertainty change. Assurance therefore does not end with a single assessment. It asks which assumptions are supported, which limitations are known and which questions must be asked again.

Customer Journey

Eight questions, not eight phases.

The AAM Customer Journey has a direction, but no fixed entry point. Its questions apply to a new idea, a system in development, or an AI that has long been in production. The lifecycle does not determine where the Journey begins; the question that must be answered today does.

01
UNDERSTAND

What do we have, what do we want to achieve, and what is truly relevant?

02
DESIGN

How should we design it?

03
VALIDATE

Does it actually work as intended, including under adverse conditions?

04
GOVERN

Who is responsible, and how do we remain in control?

05
TRUST

Do we have enough Evidence to trust it?

06
DECIDE

Can we responsibly base decisions on it?

07
TRANSFORM

How do we create organisational value with Trustworthy AI?

08
IMPROVE

How do we know it remains trustworthy?

REALITY PRODUCES NEW EVIDENCE

AAM Modules

Capabilities to answer the questions.

The Journey defines the questions. The AAM Modules provide capabilities to answer them. Modules can be used individually, combined or revisited as new evidence and questions emerge.

scip AG

Research and Cybersecurity in one perspective.

scip has been researching Trust in AI since 2018 and combines this work with more than two decades of Cybersecurity experience. AI Assurance therefore does not begin with a checklist. It begins with questions, evidence and the willingness to challenge assumptions.

Understand AI. Justify trust. Take responsibility for decisions.

AI Assurance is not about eliminating every uncertainty. It is about knowing what we know, what we do not know, and what must be examined next.
