The Titanium Team investigates artificial intelligence at the human-machine interface from an interdisciplinary perspective. Within human-machine interaction, trust plays a critical role as a psychological coping mechanism, as people have to deal with the uncertainty between the known and unknown. In the context of AI, there is a lot of uncertainty, from the definition over possible effects to concrete applications. Research on Trust in the Context of AI is still in its infancy. The focus of our current research project Trust and AI is on trust building, personality traits and attitude towards AI and technology. This research is aimed at both experts and the general public. It should offer a valuable contribution to public discourse by integrating various stakeholders.
